About
MyAOOS is a way to personalize your data viewing capabilities. You have the ability to choose maps and graphs to save and view at any time, without having to go to multiple webpages within the AOOS site. We are developing ways to automate large data requests for our registered users. At present the only way to request large amounts of data is to email us, or use the form on the 'Data Request' section of My AOOS.
Utilities
Special features will appear in the Data Catalog Explorer, station pages, and in our Interactive GIS Mapping Tool (Mapserver) that will allow more interactive access to our databases as well as more data manipulation tools. For example, when logged into My AOOS, you will be able to choose the start and end time of station parameter graphs.
How to Use My AOOS
Users can either choose to Register from the beginning or can check out some of the utilites (ie saving maps and graps), and register later to save the information. Though if logged in as a guest and the browser is existed without registering, all information will be lost.
Saving/Adding Maps and Graphs: Click on the "Add to My AOOS" button to add the item to your collection, this will open up a new browser window with your new maps/graph. Go back to the first window with the Data Catalog Explorer or the Station page to add more graphs and maps.
Viewing Saved Maps and Graphs: When in the Data Catalog Explorer or the Station pages, click on "View My AOOS". This will open up your saved data (if you are logged on). This way the My AOOS window can be closed at any time and accessed again.
Special My AOOS Utilities: When registered and logged in, My AOOS users have access to a variety of special data download and manipulation features. These features are more computation intensive and therefore have to be restricted to registered user access.
